Where most airlines ask travellers to choose between quality, service, and low cost, ZIPAIR was built to refuse that trade-off. When ZIPAIR launched in 2020, it positioned itself not as a typical low-cost carrier (LCC) but as a "right-cost carrier" sitting in the sweet spot between budget and full-service travel. The philosophy: passengers should pay only for what they want, and what they get should still be excellent.
That thinking shows up consistently across how ZIPAIR builds its product. They were the first LCC to introduce an in-flight self-ordering and payment system, allowing passengers to order meals and goods directly from their devices. Earlier this year, they became the first airline in Asia to operate a commercial flight equipped with SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet, offering passengers free, high-speed connectivity comparable to on-the-ground broadband.
The throughline is consistent: ZIPAIR treats digital experience not as a premium add-on but as a baseline expectation.
That same philosophy informs their partnership with Sherpa.
For international travellers, navigating Visa applications has traditionally meant leaving the booking experience entirely, contending with government portals, incomplete guidance, and little support if something goes wrong. The consequences of errors are significant, and the friction is real. ZIPAIR wanted that experience to be as seamless as everything else they offer.
By integrating Sherpa's platform into the booking journey, ZIPAIR passengers will soon be able to complete eVisa applications in one place, with real-time entry requirements, AI-supported application guidance, and human support if needed, all accessible from within ZIPAIR's platform.
Takuya Matsuo, ZIPAIR's Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Officer, explained the rationale:
"At ZIPAIR, we are committed to delivering a stress-free travel experience — not only at the airport or onboard, but from the very first step of booking. By integrating Sherpa's digital solution that guides travelers through entry requirements and visa processes, we are giving our customers greater confidence and convenience when planning their journey."
For Sherpa, "ZIPAIR represents exactly the kind of partner we love to work with. They've built their entire product around the idea that a better travel experience shouldn't come at a premium, and that thinking extends beyond the flight itself. Making eVisa applications simple, supported, and accessible from within the booking journey removes real friction for travellers and creates a genuinely better experience. We're proud to be part of what ZIPAIR is building." Comments Max Tremaine, CEO of Sherpa.
