June 2026 Global Visa Updates

New offerings from Sherpa since June 2026

  • 🇨🇦 Canada eTA: Nationals of Indonesia and Malaysia who hold either a Canadian visitor visa issued in the last 10 years or a valid US non-immigrant visa are now eligible for a Canadian eTA when traveling by air, and can apply with Sherpa.

Electronic visa and border system updates

  • 🇸🇦 🇬🇧 Saudi Arabia launched a new eTA for United Kingdom passport holders effective July 1. Valid for tourism and business, with multiple entries and stays up to 180 days per year.
  • 🇻🇳 Vietnam expanded its digital arrival card requirement to cover 5 airports: Hanoi (HAN), Da Nang (DAD), Nha Trang (CXR), Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), and Phu Quoc (PQC).
  • 🇮🇳 India updated the 30-day Tourist eVisa from double entry to multiple entry.
  • 🇮🇳 India launched a mandatory health declaration form on June 25 for all incoming travelers.

Mutual visa waivers and exemptions

  • 🇩🇪 🇮🇳 Germany lifted the airport transit visa requirement for Indian nationals.
  • 🇮🇪 Ireland removed visa-free travel for nationals of Nicaragua, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Lucia.
  • 🇦🇪 United Arab Emirates expanded Visa on arrival eligibility on June 25. Six nationalities were added (Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Kenya, South Africa), joining India. Qualifying residence permits also expanded to include Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, on top of the previously approved US, EU Member States, and UK.
  • 🇦🇲 Armenia extended visa-free entry through July 1, 2027 for nationals of 113 countries who hold valid US, EU, Schengen, or GCC residence permits. Eligible nationalities include India, Pakistan, and the Philippines.
  • 🇦🇿 🇯🇵 🇰🇷 Azerbaijan waives visa requirements for Japanese and South Korean citizens, effective July 1.
  • 🇵🇭 🇹🇼 Philippines extends visa-free entry for Taiwan passport holders (14 days or less) from July 1 through June 30, 2027.
