New offerings from Sherpa° since April 2025
- 🇳🇦 Namibia eVisa: Since April 1st, travelers from 33 countries—including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and EU member states—need to obtain a visa for Namibia and can apply online through Sherpa°.
Global changes to electronic entry documents in April 2025
- 🇹🇭 Thailand's Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) will be mandatory for all travelers from May 1st.
- 🇳🇬 Nigeria announced two new systems anticipated for May 1st: an eVisa portal expected to become fully functional and a travel declaration designed to expedite entry.
- 🇨🇺 Cuba is replacing paper Tourist Cards with mandatory eVisas starting July 1st. Travelers flying with Canadian airlines are exempt and only need to complete the ‘D’Viajeros’ form online within 7 days of arrival and show their QR code at boarding.
- 🇦🇬 Antigua and Barbuda launched a new recommended travel declaration to expedite entry.
- 🇵🇭 The Philippines expanded its eVisa system, allowing visa-required residents of India, Kenya, Nigeria, and UAE to apply online.
- 🇯🇵 Japan’s upcoming ETA system, nicknamed "JESTA," will now aim to launch in April 2028, instead of the originally planned 2030.
Other visa policy changes in April 2025
- 🇦🇪 UAE announced an increased stay duration from 30 to 90 days for Chinese nationals obtaining a visa on arrival.
- 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia announced entry for Umrah is restricted between April 13th and June 9th. Travelers can re-enter for Umrah from June 10th.
- 🇨🇳 China and 🇲🇾 Malaysia announced the continued mutual exemption of visa requirements.
- 🇦🇱 Albania announced a 90-day tourism visa waiver until December 31st for nationals of Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
- 🇧🇦 Bosnia and Herzegovina announced a summer visa waiver from June 1st to September 30th for nationals of Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Bahrain.
